BIOGRAPHY:
Two friends, Sir Ad and Holken were sitting outside the yellow "Spitts bus" at the Hultsfred festival in 2001. A few beers and a lot of moonshine later they decided that they would start a band... Sir Ad grabbed the guitar and Holken the bass, and all they needed now was a drummer.. Holken knew a guy, Hasse.
Glora High was born. For their first show they decided that they needed one more guitar player. Sir Ad recomended his old neighbour Danne. Danne liked the idea and joined the band.
In 2003 four friends from Askersund not far away from Vretstorp talked about starting a band. It was Mike on drums, Simple on bass, Mac on guitar and Stefan on guitar and lead vocals. Before they even had any songs, they got their first show booked and
Wallbanger was born.
In
2005 two great bands split up. Stefan from Wallbanger decided to quit the band and start his own buisness. At the same time the lack of interest was the end of Glora High.
The remaining members of Wallbanger kept on playing and was looking after a new singer. At the Hultsfred festival 2005 Mac and Simple found theirself sitting in a caravan drinkin' beer with a weird guy called Sir Ad. They knew that Sir Ad had been the singer of Glora High and they asked him if he wanted to joined their band. Sir Ad thought it was a good idea and a few weeks later he met the guys and liked what he heard. In the fall of '05 they recorded their first demo and short after they had their first show. All they needed now was a new name for the band. They decided that they would call themself
The Benefits Of. Now it was Mike on drums, Mac on guitar, Simple on bass and Sir Ad on guitar and lead vocals. Facing their second show (as an opening act to Entombed) Sir Ad felt that he wanted to concentrate on his singing. Sir Ad knew that Danne (The guitar player from Glora High) wasn't doing anything at the moment so he asked if he would like to join on guitar. And he did. In the spring of '06 they headed into the recording studio again and recorded their second demo. They also recorded one track for the compilation "Punk & Osfug" released by Playwood Production in the fall of '06. Stay tuned and keep your eyes and ears open, because the story of The Benefits Of has just begun.
